I really enjoyed presenting and leading an interview with Shogi Professional Instructors at the Shard, London in an event co-organised with the The Japan Society of the UK, BritPit Tax Consulting Kohtaro Hirota and kindly hosted by University of Warwick - Warwick Business School at their wonderful campus in the Shard. Whilst preparing my short presentation and interview, it was fascinating for me to find out more about the history of this iconic Japanese game that has survived throughout Japan's turbulent history and to find out about the reality of competing in the Shogi apprenticeship system from Yasushi Ishikawa (Shidō Kishi 4-dan) and Tetsuaki Sanada (Shidō Kishi 3-dan), who were also able to talk about current challenges to the game in Japan and answer some very detailed questions from the audience. Thank you to the The Japan Society for inviting your members and also I would like to credit Prof. Dr. Rövekamp Frank, whose research on Shogi was very detailed and informative and allowed me to present the context and history of this game in an engaging and accessible way. Thank you too for the delightful feedback from a very engaged audience member: "Thank you for your invigorating and very interesting presentation interviewing the Shogi Masters. It was a joyous experience full of good humor..
