MD Sarah Parsons worked for the Japan Local Government Centre, Council of Local Authorities for International Relations (CLAIR), London from 1998-2001 upon her return from teaching on the Japan and Exchange Teaching (JET) Programme, so was delighted to be asked to moderate their new initiative: a series 'Japan Local Attraction' seminars, showcasing the unique charm of Japan’s local attractions and tourism initiatives, aimed at enabling UK travel agents, tour operators, destination marketing organisations, public sector partners, and Japan enthusiasts in exploring the places that are off the beaten track in Japan.
The seminars are organised in conjunction with local authorities in Japan, leveraging the insights and experiences of JET Programme participants in those areas. The themes have covered Traditional Festivals, Wellness and Activity Holidays and Manga and Anime attractions in Japan.
