I really enjoyed participating in the "Bridging the Horizon" Europe-Japan webinar, co-hosted by JETRO Europe Innovation, EU-Japan Centre for Industrial Cooperation and EIT Global Outreach. I delivered a short session on 'Bridging the Cultural Business Gaps', where I outlined some of the common differences in expectations between Japanese and European organisations, linking in with aspects of communications, alongside best-practice for cross-cultural collaboration, covering topics such as risk-aversion, information sharing and differences in business processes and decision making, especially between SMEs and larger corporations. It was great to hear about the potential collaborative opportunities on the Horizon Europe Programme, as well as hear from guest speaker Takuya (Tony) Taniguchi of ダイナミックマッププラットフォーム株式会社/Dynamic Map Platform Co., Ltd. , who have established many impressive partnerships with European companies.
