Our Managing Director Sarah Parsons sat on a panel at a prestigious event  'Building Secure Foundations: UK-Japan Business Collaboration Explored organised by IoD Japan Business Group Chair Dr Indranil Nath and Co-Chair Rie Hamaguchi and co-hosted by JETRO London and the Osaka Prefectural Government , at Japan House London. Sarah talked about important aspects of business development and risk management for companies entering the Japanese market, citing 'understanding the communications and business processes and making sure this understanding is built into all stages of business development' as an important aspect of business development, from market entry to setting up a subsidiary, given that failing to understand its importance and thinking that the job is done once connections are made/contracts are signed, poses ones of the greatest risks to longevity in the market. '

She also said, "It was a pleasure to sit on the panel with Jason Chester and Akihiro Kudo and also to meet other panellists, as well as be welcomed to the lovely Japan House by Director General Sam Thorne, listen to a video welcome from the Mayor of Osaka, Hideyuki Yokoyama and hear about Osaka as an investment region from Rie Hamaguchi, followed by insightful speeches from the Economic Minister at the Embassy of Japan in the UK, Kyoichiro Kawakami, Westminster's Lord Mayor Councillor Robert Rigby, Director General of JETRO Hideo Yura and Deputy Director General of JETRO Masahide Sakishige and a closing speech from Lord Hugh Trenchard, from the British Japanese Parliamentary Group. Not to forget the wonderful MCs Ai Shimohama and Rosie Slater and the other great panellists/moderators Richard CrosfieldTsubasa HottaJason FrankJohnny J Pawlik. It was also interesting to watch a Noh dance performance, designed to bring longevity to the business relationship, performed beautifully by Sakurako Tanaka
